My first PSYCHOBILLY experience with THE LIVING END! Bass Teacher REACTS to “Prisoner of Society”
FULL-ALBUM Reactions, Lessons & More 👉 www.patreon.com/LowEndUniversity
---------------------------------------------------
➡️ Psychobilly, eh? This is new ground for me! You all have requested The Living End's breakout-track "Prisoner of Society", and I truly ate it up. I enjoyed diving deep into the nimble energy of this track and was fairly surprised at the band's choice to employ an authentic upright bass sound, adding a truly charming feel to the song. It was almost like hearing a rockabilly band COVER a punk song - in the best way possible! I discuss bassist Scott Owen's technique, his bass line development, how he slowly built the track using varied grooves and phrasings, a music-the...

First Time Hearing THE REPLACEMENTS! “I Will Dare” has the CATCHIEST RIFFS!
Просмотров 6 тыс.9 часов назад
FULL-ALBUM Reactions, Lessons & More 👉 www.patreon.com/LowEndUniversity ➡️ My first time hearing The Replacements was a real treat because of how quickly the catchy riffing grabbed me! I have a soft spot for upbeat shuffles, and the interplay between bassist Tommy Stinson and lead guitarist Bob Stinson was pure ear candy. This song ticks SO many boxes for me in terms of captivating songwriting....
Unreleased DOOKIE Song?! Bass Teacher REACTS to "J.A.R." by GREEN DAY

FULL-ALBUM Reactions, Lessons & More 👉 www.patreon.com/LowEndUniversity ➡️ I’m no stranger to Green Day, but hearing this unreleased track from 1994’s "Dookie" had me feeling like a teenager again! Jason Andrew Relva (abbreviated as "J.A.R.") is apparently a fan-favorite with its chordal bass intro, the song's delicate subject matter, and the early Green Day sound we've all come to love. I list...
Why weren't they bigger?? Bass Teacher REACTS to "Grey Cell Green" by NED'S ATOMIC DUSTBIN

FULL-ALBUM Reactions, Lessons & More 👉 www.patreon.com/LowEndUniversity ➡️ When I finally realized that Ned's Atomic Dustbin wasn't some video game soundtrack, reading about their two-bassist lineup really intrigued me to check them out! I was expecting something sort of "heady" along the lines of virtuosic jazz or technical metal - but as it turns out - "Grey Cell Green" is a catchy rock anthe...
Breaking Down the GENIUS of Porcupine Tree’s “HALO”

FULL-ALBUM Reactions, Lessons & More 👉 www.patreon.com/LowEndUniversity ➡️ It’s time for a good ol' prog rock SONG BREAKDOWN! Porcupine Tree are one of my favorite bands to exist, and I’d nearly forgotten about the magnificence of “Halo” from their album "Deadwing" released in 2005. Steven Wilson’s songwriting is simply exquisite - especially when paired with Gavin Harrison’s otherworldly drumm...

FULL-ALBUM Reactions, Lessons & More 👉 www.patreon.com/LowEndUniversity ➡️ I was really mistaken about No Doubt, and my ignorance led me to believe they were just another pop band I'd hear on the radio occasionally. Songwriting genius that captures the late 70s London and the Tube perfectly. Sadly the Mod revival missed the USA - such a shame. Paul Weller's dad used open gigs with "The best f###ing band in the world, The Jam!" He wasn't wrong.

So, this video only shows their second attempt at playing the song. When they first started playing it, the crowd threw mud onto the stage (it had been raining, the pit was muddy as hell, and I think some hit Les), so Les stopped the song to chide the audience: "Hey! Did you know that throwing things is a sign of small and insignificant genitalia!"... and they then started the song over again...

@Low End University, there’s some great psychobilly bands out there. Reverend Horton Heat is one. Horrorpops are good. Necromantix. Hillbilly Moon Explosion has some GREAT songs and do some great covers, like “Jackson” by Johnny Cash. “Chuck Habit” is another great song. Demented Are Go are a great band too. The Meteors are another great psychobilly band. And of course Tiger Army.
